Will the abusive boyfriend of a friend stop hitting her now that she's pregnant?

I don't really care either way. She's the mother of my step-son and has brought a lot of heartache to my marriage. I kinda still care a little about her because I'm an emotionally sensitive person. But will her boyfriend stop hitting her since she's pregnant by him?
