Quake 3 Arena....ons?

hi i was playing quake 3 and i have mouse2 as jump and mouse1 as fire but all the other players can jump, crouch, fire, and change weapons but when i do it i am just to slow and they kill me so can can you give me some tips on what ons i should use and where to put them on the KeyBoard
